Professional aquarium design, installation & maintenance — for homes, offices, and schools.
Designing and maintaining some of Tulsa's largest and most beautiful aquariums, Ben Wehr has over 13 years of experience in professional aquarium service. We design and care for a wide range of displays — tropical reefs, rainforest vivariums, finch aviaries & beautiful freshwater aquariums. Having worked with many retail pet establishments, businesses, schools and individuals, Ben Wehr is the person Tulsa calls for habitat design, animal husbandry and education in the aquarium industry.
We are dedicated to serving our customers. It brings us great joy to see a little face light up when they begin to discover all the life in a healthy ecosystem. We enthusiastically teach our customers about the inhabitants of their aquarium, how to care for them and what to expect in the future. Our goal for every interaction is to make their home or office feel alive — with a unique, beautiful and artistically designed ecosystem.
“We are fully insured, reliable, professional and have years of experience. We’re not a fish store that sells you a tank and wishes you luck — and we’re not a part-time hobbyist. This is all we do, and we love it!”
From a 10-gallon starter to a 300-gallon reef — here’s what we do, and what it costs.

It takes more than just a truck to move a tank. We handle the move, the water, the filtration — you just enjoy the tank. We’ll do the heavy lifting, fill it with perfect water, hook up all the filtration and show you exactly what to do from there.
Cleaning, consults, equipment help, installation, etc. We’ll come to your home or office, diagnose the problem, start fixing it, and get you on track to a clean, thriving tank. $75/hr for one technician, $90/hr for a two-person team. Water & supplies may be an additional charge.
Starting at $150/month. Whether you have a freshwater tank, reef tank, or rainforest vivarium we will set up a weekly, biweekly or monthly schedule to keep your ecosystem in optimal health and cleanliness. Please call, text or email us for a quote.

Tropical plants bring the same living calm as an aquarium. Here are a few from homes and offices around Tulsa — plus the care basics that keep them happy.
Most tropical houseplants want bright, indirect light — a few feet from a sunny window. Direct midday sun scorches leaves; too little light makes growth leggy and pale.
Water deeply, then let the top inch or two of soil dry before watering again. Pots need drainage holes — roots sitting in water rot. When in doubt, underwater: overwatering kills more houseplants than drought.
Tropicals are happiest around 40–60% humidity. Group plants together, set pots on a pebble tray with water, or run a small humidifier in dry winter months. Keep leaves away from heating and AC vents.
Yellow, mushy leaves usually mean too much water. Brown crispy edges often mean dry air or inconsistent watering. Skip daily misting — it wets leaves without raising humidity — and don’t jump a small plant into a huge pot.

Aquariums, creatures and classroom visits.
Ben Wehr has been a part of our summer camp program at Broken Arrow Public Schools for the past 3 years. Each summer he brings a variety of different creatures and gives the children a lesson on how each one is key to the environment. The kids look forward to each visit as they get to have a hands on experience with different types of ocean and rainforest animals.
Jessica WingBroken Arrow Public Schools B and A ConnectionsI've had the pleasure of having Ben with Tulsa Aquarium Service set up and service both saltwater and freshwater (Discus) aquariums for the past several years. He is professional, knowledgeable and does a superb job. Discus are especially difficult to keep and I couldn't be happier with the service. He is reliable, consistent and quick to respond to any questions or problems that arise. I've had other aquarium services in the past and Ben is 'BY FAR' the VERY best at what he does.
Stephen C. Medina, MDWhen I called Ben, I had been battling a hair algae problem for well over a year & was frustrated by a year's worth of bad advice that had left me feeling like I had been paddling upstream with my 180 gallon salt water tank. Within a month of his care, the equipment was optimized, water changes were done correctly & the hair algae was essentially gone; my tank is already looking 100% better! Happy "fishies" are once again living in my tank! ~ Thanks Ben!
Mickie C. Taylor, MPH“As you know, I have been an art collector and lover of nature for many years. You all have created a saltwater reef aquarium for me that has become my favorite piece of art. It is a perfect combination of living art and ever-changing natural beauty! The other worldly beauty of the tank is comparable only to such things as sunsets, blazing yellow aspen trees in the fall, and the surprise of a high mountain lake after a long hike. Your attention to detail and care for all the living creatures in my aquarium is unmatched. Thank you for taking such good care of the beautiful living creatures that share my home!” ~ Many Thanks,
John EakinA collaboration of Tulsa Aquarium Service & Ultimate Reefs and AquariumsI had two aquarium service companies prior to Tulsa Aquarium Service and they have been, hands down, the best! He is always courteous and prompt and does a good job with keeping my tank spotless. He always keeps the area he works in very neat and clean. ~ Thanks!
